Minister’s Message 9th June 2019
It’s easy sometimes to be consumed by the ‘lot’ that others seem to have, while feeling that we only have a little. For some it causes them to do all sorts of moral gymnastics so they too can have more.
When I feel envious of what others have I find Psalm 37: verse 16 and 17 helpful to read.
16 Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
17 for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous.
These verses don’t say that those with wealth are wicked, but it does remind us as believers that righteousness (being right with God) is far more valuable than anything that this world has to offer.
The next time that you are looking with envy at something someone else has, remember Psalm 37; verses 16 and 17.
In Christ
