Do not Worry?
We are into June! 6 months till Christmas!
I’m excited already.
It does feel like life is finally settling and yet in another breath it feels like there is a wolf lurking around the door.
Matthew 6: 25 – 34 call us to not worry.
Which strikes me as a bit of an ask actually! There feels like there is so much to worry about at the moment.
A Covid case pops up in Australia and the shock waves are felt here.
We are desperate for water and it floods down south.
House prices keep going up but people still need places to live.
There are things to worry about and yet we know that worrying doesn’t get us anywhere.
So, what do we do with our worries?
The answer is rather clichéd and note that just because something is a cliché doesn’t mean it’s wrong it’s just that we can be dismissive of it.
The answer is bringing it to God. Verse 33 says seek first the kingdom and righteousness and what you need will be given to you.
Seek God first, bring your worries to God in prayer and trust that God will sort them out.
Blessings
